This is my cousin Terri Peterson and her family. Troy is her husband, Terri and her family joined the church after my family did are all 4 children served missions and remain active. It has been a while since I have seen her. It was so good to see her when we went to Phoenix , Arizonia.

At the Mesa temple. Kellie, Natalie, Spencer, Porter, Ally, Aunt Karen, Emillie, Sam, Abby and JAred. These children are Tatiana's.... They loved Jared and followed him everywhere. When we were leaving Saturday evening to get ready to fly home Sam said," I want you to stay. Don't go!" Isn't that the cute!

We could not find John ... Rosie was looking for him but took this shot anyway. It was a beautiful day. Fun and eventful!

We were able to do a sesion in the Mesa temple which has been a goal of Jared's for a long time. To those who changed their plans to be there.... Thanks! It was beautiful! My cousin Terri and Troy were there but he had to go back to work.

Grandma's family that attended the reunion. I am so glad we went! We had a great time together.

Christmas Eve would not be the same without the barn at Uncle Ron,s. We were smaller in numbers but great in spirit and thought of all of you who were unable to be there. Clare, Char and Gracie.... actually Clarke was in bed all day with a migraine and arrived at the end of the barn activities but are so glad he was able to recover and come for a while.

SO on My birthday Sarah was kind enought o host a dinner and a party for me. We had dinner, delicious ice cream cake made by Spencer, and a game of GOLF. Thank you it was one of the best gifts I received!

My brother Paul was able to join us this year. We were the same age 54. We are onl;y 10 and 1/2 months apart. Love you Paul.

Aunt Jeanette joined us for this Thanksgiving. She and Judy took Jared all around for a few days of tours, a cruise of the bay, and museums. Thanks for sharing your time with him. He had a great time. By the way eanette is my dad's sister.

MAry drove 3 hours to come and see us for a few hours and then drove back. Love you sister. Notice my hair.... I got a nice cut while I was here. Looks so much better after I got it cut! Thanks Madison!

We took the California weather to Va. with us. We both packed for cold winter weather and in ended up being in the high 60,s. Mike and Charlotte were kind enough to take us on a bike ride on the board walk and around Ft. Monroe. We couldn,t have ask for a more beautiful perfect day! Thanks. We had a great time.

In 2007 when we all went for Thanksgiving we had warm sunny weather. We were blessed again with great weather and enjoyed the sunshine. A Thanksgiving picnic which really helped with crowd control inside the house.

My mother and I always have a great time when we are together. I am so glad I got to be there with her and enjoy talking, vivting and sharing memories.

At the end of our bike ride we decides to get a picture with the ocean in the background. Virginia is so beautiful. My sister Charlotte and her husband Mike. They look great... young and energetic!!!

We were blessed to have 5 days with family from all over the states come to Cailfornia for dinners,beach, family skits and talents, temple sealings and testimony meeting. What a great legacy Grandmother Bjarnason left for all of us. A quote from President Monson in this month's Liahona says it all..."Our gratitude grows for the privilege of being part of something we can count on--home and family and the loyalty of loved ones. We met Clarke ,Char , Spencer, Sarah and grandkids at Vallejo Discovery Kingdom for a day of fun filled adventure and whale shows. Needles to say Jared and I braved kiddyland while some of the adults hit the coasters. It was a beautiful day in the bay and we all had a fun time! Love that my family lives close!

Sarah and Mckay's birthdays are separated by the 4th of July- so this year we had lunch and a party at our home. After all the food and cake we went to Aunt Karen's for a swim party which all the kiddos love. The only thing missing was Spencer and family who just moved to Okinawa and Clarke and family who were in Utah. We had a great time.

Kathleen Mcnelly is Jared's cousin and we have been great friends with them for 34 years. We shared 8 years of trips and outings together when we lived in Virginia and get together when they come to Ca. This June Kirsten married Greg, A great man, and we were able to go to Palo Alto for their wedding. We also hosted Marne and family, Monica, And Tatiana and family for a night. Altogther I think there were 13 of them. Before spending the night with us Stephie graciosly hosted a dinner with over 50 relatives because she has a great set up for parties and large crowds. THANKS STEPHANIE! The wedding was beautiful and I am so glad we were able to attend.

I called this the resort... in reality it was Liz's back yard. We had such a great time. We ivited Taylor to come and join us. She and Andrew were great buddies. She did miss her family on day 5 of the trip.

Gracie and I became great friends on this tip and she followed me everywhere and gave me lots of hugs. She is so sweet.

Getting out of school in May has advantages and one of them is vacations. Char invited me to go with her to San Diego and help with the kids while she visited her sister Liz and family. Who can pass up a chance to spend time at the beach and with grandkids. While we were there we were able to go to the beach, play on the trampoline, go for bike rides, visit Little Mexico;I think that is what it was called; Liz made delicious meals for us and we enjoyed lots of movies at night and conversation. Thanks for inviting me and to Liz thanks fro being such a great hostess!

Having Sarh and family close is great because I can get in the car and be there in 50 minutes. So one Monday I decided to go and take the kids to funworks and ride the go carts. It was a great time for all. Benson was a little upset he could not get on the cars...so grandma knew just what to do. Boy did he change his attitude really fast. We all had a great time!

Lucy wanted to have a birthday party at grandma's with all her cousins. So we went to Crane park and enjoyed dinner and fun with cousins. Later that week I was able to take Maren and went to a pinkalicious party. Maren really enjoyed the time with her cousins and especially to go with grandma. She says to her mom, "remember when I had a good time?' Glad she could go with me.

So Clarke likes to do a birthday party that involves a competition. He has lives out of state for the past three years of this tradition, so we have been unable to attend. This year was awesome as Jared, Ashley , Allyson, me , his cousin Jon and wife Jennifer and Sarah and Spencer Hyer and kids were able to attend along with many friends. There were able to use the club house in their townhome. We all had a great time. Happy 33rd Clarke! Can it be that my first baby is 33?????

So I have been trying to update my blog for 6 months. I have many things that we have done that I want recorded. The Mcnelly's were in Ca. for a wedding and Nathan, Marne's husband, helped me to get this new computwer up and running so that I can get pictures to post. This is the first a a few post so make sure that you scroll down to see all the updates. The first big event was the wedding of DAvid and Caoline. We were able to go to Utah and be with all of Jared's brothers and sisters and their spouses, except Bonnie- who was on a mission. It was a very evenmtful few days and Caroline is perfect for David. I am so blessed we were able to go.

A Visit to see Spencer, Suzy and Sydney!

Halloween we went to a trunk or treat with many of the dental students. I was amazed at the participants. Sydney was dressed as Cinderella . We had a great day.

One of the reasons I wanted to go to Ohio was because Sydney was turning 2. Although her real birthday is November 4, we celebrated on Ally's birthday. She helped me make cupcakes and decorate them. Go to Jared's facebook to see all the pics of the trip.

Spencer and Suzy took me to Patterson's farm where we had homemade donuts, bought delicious apples, enjoyed slides, swings, hayrides and the beautiful fall foilage of Ohio. Sydney loves Pattersons and would go there everyweekend if she could.

One of the high lights was being able to see Spencer and many of his 4th year dental friends enter an intramural dodgeball tournament... Spencer and his team took first place. It was really fun to watch it and although Spencer says it does not hurt when the ball hits, I think I never want to be in that game... I'll watch.

Here is the princess. She loves Cinderella, so grandma brought her a baby cinderella doll, a dress and a crown and she was so cute I couldn't resist dressing her for this picture. I was able to spend three days babysitting her so we got to know each other well. She was sweet and always on her best behavior. Spencer and Suzy are great parents. I had a wondrful time.

This past weekend
we got to have Taylor, Mckay, Maren and Benson overnight so Sarah and Spencer could have some alone time. Friday night was Pizza, popcorn and a movie. Saturday was bacon and pancakes, making Halloween cookies, crafts, and a trip to the pumpkin patch where they had pony rides. MAren and Mckay were afraid to ride but enjoyed the petting zoo. It was great fun but we were worn out! I know now why we have children in our young days? How did Sariah do it???

THANKS SPENCER FOR TAKING JARED AND SARAH ON A DREAM TRIP!

This morning Jared met Sarah and Spencer in Planada at 4:30 am and drove to Yosemite National Park to hike Half Dome... at an elevatiobn of 4800 ft and a 13 hour hike up, into the top of the mountains. I was really skeptical of him going, especially since he did no preparatroy hikes, his age, and his health. In fact, I think my fears edged him on to the point he wanted to prove he could do it! YOU WIN HONEY! YOU CONQUERED THE BEAST! I am proud of you! Thanks to Spencer and Sarah for going with him... I do not have any desire to spend that many hours climbing up to that elevation... I will enjoy the pictures and perhaps hike to one of the lower falls. Jared says there is no way I could make it to the top.Is that a challenge??? Nope.... I do not want the challenge. I will enjoy the beautiful pictures. He limped in the house at 10:30 pm, said he felt like he was going to throw up, took a shower , and collapsed into his bed with extra strength tylenol. We'll see if he makes it to work tomorrow.I will use one of the pictures as my screen saver. Enjoy!

Don't mind the date on the photo's. It is wrong!! This was July4th , 2010. This is dinner at Aunt Stephanies followed by fireworks in Atwater. It was a great 4th. We had family , friends and lots of food. Clarke and Char spent 3 days with us. We missed Spencer and Sarah and fam and wished Spencer and Suzy were with us.... but we thought of them and love them

Gracie loved the farm, tyhe swings and all the grass where she could crawl. She is 9 months oldand a cutie.

July 3rd we had a big breakfast at Aunt Stephanie's and Uncle Ron's with a dinner and swim party at Aunt Karen's. In the time between Grandma and Grandpa took Lucy and Andrew to the parade and festival. It was fun! There' Char with Andrew , Gracie and look at Lucy on her floaty.

Ashley made an appearance and got to visit with Clarke and Gracie and cousin Kelly. She works many hours ... 6 days a week and was able to join us for a while. We were happy to see her. It was a great three days full of many memories! Hope all of you had a great fourth. We are so greatful to live in this promised land and have the opportunities and blessings we all enjoy!!

Each year the cemetary here in Turlock puts American flags all around the cemetary and a small flag on every veteran's grave. We try to go and see this each memorial day. The boy scouts are kind enough to do this great honor.

Our baby is on to bigger and better things and hopefully we can get through the next few months and come to grips with our new lot in life. It has been a pleasure to raise Allyson. She has been such a great example of love and respect to her parents. We love you Ally!!

I love having the grandkids at my house and all the activities we are able to do. They are so sweet. Here is Benson and Gracie who are 1 month apart.
Going to the park is a given and thegirls love to swing and play on the equipment.
Relaxing and chillin on the ps2 and reading are a big hit.
Mckay is always willing to help wash cars or help where we need . He loves to be here and we love to have him. He will start kindergarten this fall.
The girls love my flower garden and had a great time making arrangements while Mckay and I washed a car. They did a great job and the flowers stayed on the table for a week. Taylor will be seven ... the years fly by. I am so happy that this year I get the whole suumer off and that I can spend many days doing fun activities with children and grandchildren. They mean so much to me.

Tender Mercies from the Lord!

For the past 5 months my mother has been going through chemo and many hospital stays and surgeries for cancer . She almost past to the other side 2 times and it has been a stressful time for all of us. On top of that my dad has many health issues with his heart that cause him hospital stays and discomfort. We , as a family have had them in our prayers daily. Many of you have also prayed in their behalf. I want you to know that my mother is much better. She had 14 inches of her colon removed, the chemo seemed to help get rid of the cancer and she is recovering. The Lord has answered our prayers and she has some extended time with us for which I am most grateful. Thanks be to God for his tender mercy in h er behalf. In November my mother and father were in the same hospital for a week. I went to see them and these pics were taken the day they got out ....my dad was elated to go home. Can you tell!!!!!

Allyson will be leaving for BYU in July. We are so excited for her. She just received her senior photos and here are a few. She is grown up. Can you believe my baby is going to college? The years have passed much to quickly and I am enetring in another phase of my life... but I love being a grandmother and doing all the fun activities with grandchildren.

Another winter 's night in the barn with carols, the nativity, and loved ones. What great memories. Christmas just wouldn't be the same without the hay piled high for the little ones to climb up on , the 12 days of Christmas and the re-enactment of the nativity. Thank you Uncle Ron and Aunt Stephanie for hosting our annual event. It is something that we all have great treasured memories of.
Ashley had the flu along with Sarah's family this year but we made the best of it.

Grandpa climbed the stacks of hay with Maren, Taylor, and Mckay. That is cousin Jacob on the left. This is where they love to sit each year. FUN!

Thank you to Kelly for holding Benson for over an hour. He slept the whole time. The 12 days of Christmas is a big hit!!

Maren is such a sweet girl. She stayed with me for three days ahead of her family and followed me around everywhere asking the question WHY? to everything. She was my shadow.

It's Beginning to look alot like Christmas!!

This will be the first year we have not had all of our children- or most of them -and all the grandkids for Christmas. Ashley and Ally are really sad by this. Sarah and family want to stay in their own home to start some of their own traditions and then we will go to their home for Christmas and spend the day with them. YEAH! Thank goodness Sarah and kids live close so we will enjoy their company Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Jared's work had a party for the employees children and grandchildren so we had a good time with Taylor, Mckay, Maren , and Benson. We look forward to hearing from all of you and having a few family gatherings for the holidays.

Benson Drew Hyer was born on September 21, 2009. He is the son of our daughter Sarah and her husband Spencer.(This is their 4th child) He is our 7th grandchild and we are thrilled to be able to be so close that we can visit and hold him. Isn't he sweet??

August 12 ,Jared and I flew to Dallas ,Texas to attend the wedding of our nephew- Jon Bjarnason-to Jennifer M. Our son Spencer and his wife Suzie and daughter Sidney met us there. Also Clarke flew in from Indiana.We had a great time and were able to sight see in Dallas . We went to the grassy knoll and the site of the Kennedy assasination. We were able to hear Michael L. present his eyewitness account of that day -as he was 13 and on the corner. It was very interesting. The highlight of course was the wedding and being with family. Maren in her new bathing suit she received for her birthday. She was not afraid to go in the water at all. Almost to brave for me!!!

Liz and her family came for a week so we all went to the Lake. We all had a great time.

Grandma combined their birthday money and got a trampoline. We went to Madera and helped set it up on Maren's birthday which was June 9. For some reason my cameras date is off. I'll have to figure that one out.
Taylor, Mckay,Maren and I enjoying the beautiful back yard and weather.
Ashley is having fun with Chico and Sarah's two new puppies Scotch and I forgot the black dogs name. They are chihuahuas. Chica had a great time there.
Spencer bought a huge wooden playset from Craigslist and that was the gift they combined for the kids . They all have summer birthdays. Even I got to swing and for some reason the pic did not turn out.
We had a great time and are glad they live close.

I enjoyed a trip to North Carolina to see my sister Mary Ann. After two days with her we went to Virginia for 5 days and I was able to get pictures of all my brothers and sisters and my parents... this is the first picture of all 8 of us in several years. Then I went to Indiana and spent 4 days with Clarke and his family. They are expecting child # 3 in October. It was a great two weeks for me and I am so thnakful for my family and the love that they show me and the great memories I treasure. Enjoy the slide show.

Grandparents Primary Activity!!

Living close to grandchildren has lots of rewards and excitement. JAred and I drove to Madera for a Primary Grandparents day activity. We played games, made picture frames, built puzzles, and baked and ate chocolate chip cookies. Our picture frames and photos were a hit. Also... good job Sarah on a great activity. Sarah is in the Primary presidency.

Sarah and her family came to Turlock for dinner at Home Town Buffet for Jared's birthday. This started a four day reunion for the Bjarnason's as Bonnie and Mike were here also.

A bit of Africa!!!

This is not as orange as she wanted it but it looks great!

Putting the two walls together and the room statred to look like it may come together.

We found the bedspread at Walmart clearance and it matched the room and Ally was happy.

The final project and we are pleased with the results. Why did I make her wait so long????

So for the past 3 years Allyson has told me that she wanted to paint her room yellow and orange and that she wants to have an African theme. I have always put her off and delayed the project. Well... this week we bought paint and began the 15 hours of work. It looks great and she is finished another YW project! YeaH!!!!!

Last week I went to visit Sarah in their new home. It was a forclosed home with half an acre lot. There have already done alot of work and got it ready . It is in a beautiful neighborhood. Good job getting a great deal on a forclosed home!

So Uncle Ron loves to jam with Ally after family dinner. Here they are playing their song with the violin and the harmonica. It was great!! We have family dinners. They are small but we always have a good time.

We were so happy to have all of our children and their spouses and our grandchildren here for Christmas. We created many memories and were able to go to Sears for a portrait together. Thanks to all for making the season jolly. We had a wonderful Christmas because you were all here. We love you!

I was involved in decorating for the journey to Bethlehem on a low budget. So take a look at the palm trees I made and Lynette Day made the camel. It was so fun . Dad was a wise man and we had the oasis winter night.

Allyson looked so beautiful for her winter formal. She wasn't about to ask a guy to the formal and was going to stay home but....on her birthday Nov.1, Jeremy asked her to go. My camera died so I didn't get a good one of them together but they took pictures so I will send more out later. My baby is getting older!!!

Clarke and his sweet family were so kind to us and made our stay so fun.

Andrew and Grandma made a gingerbread house one day while Lucy was napping.

Lucy loved her grandpa to swing her and everytime she saw him she would back into him and say AGAIN??? She is so sweet.

Grandma took the kids to the Museum in Indianapolis.... there were lots of fun exhibits and they did great in the museum.

Jared and I flew to Indiana to see Clarke and his family. We did many activities and were able to bond with Lucy and Andrew who live so far from us. Grandma Weiss joined us for the fun and we had a great time. After spending 4 days with Clarke and his family we rented a car and drove to Ohio to see our newest grandaughter... Sydney.

Jared and I were able to take a vacation and go to visit our new grand-daughter in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. My mother also flew in for the occasion so we could get some 4 generation shots. Sydney is a beautiful girl and I am amazed at how well she knows her daay and her mommy. When Spencer takes her she smiles at him and stares right into his eyes. She is so aware of his presence and he , of course is the proud dad.

November 1st Allyson turned 16 and had a very busy day. It started with a 3 hour volleyball clinic at MJC. I had arranged a surprize luncheon with several of her friends. Soooo... the volleyball players said they were taking her out for lunch and then we were there with all the girls to wish her a happy birthday. She doesn't like big parties or attention on her birthday and was a liitle mad at me but quickly got over the shock and all had a good time. Then Ashley took her to see HS musical 3 with a few of Ally's friends. To top that off a balloon bouquet arrived with balloons that said YOU...ME....FORMAL????? She was asked to go to the High School winter formal.Then she went to dinner and hung out with friends. I love Ally!!! I am glad she is mine!!!!

A trip would not be complete without a ride on Ally's motor bike.

We had a great weekend as we watched general conference and were able to spend the weekend with Sarah and her family.Then we topped that off with a great family dinner at Aunt Stephanies. We are greatful for these special times where we find our loved ones and feel their love. Conference gave us messages of hope and great talks to edify and challege us to be better and endure all things with faith and patience. Here are a few pics of the weekend. Love to you all.

I love to receive pictures of my grandchildren. Today in the mail I was welcomed by a thankyou card from Andrew for his birthday gifts and these beautiful pictures. They really touched me because Andrew is a splitting image of Clarke when he was four.

Today for Labor Day we went to our old neighborhood and visited with the two Dhaiwal Families. We lived 12 years next to them. We had Indian crusine, updated our families and of course talked a few politics. I wanted to post pictures so my family could see them. Rita is in Oregon in Optometry school. Muninder is going to medical school to be a nuero-surgeon. Harneet is going to UC Merced. Jagatpal is a senior and Gurpetop is a freshman. I probabaly botched the spellings of the names.Brinder is in a Masters of Business program. (Rita and Brinder were not here today for the pictures. By the way.... BEBE is 87. WOW!!!! We ahd a great time and they were updated on all of you and I told them to check out my blog and they would be on it. So here goes....................................

Pioneer Trek

Thursday through Saturday Allyson went with our stake on a pioneer trek. They hiked 16 miles and camped two nights. It was a great experience for all who attended. At this time we reflect on our pioneer heritage and all of those who led and blazed the trails of the west to establish a better life for us.

This part week Allyson and I went to the island with Sarah and her family. We had a great time. I watched the three kids while Spencer, Sarah and Ally went on the rides. It was so fun and a beautiful day.

FLY FISHING!!!!

The young men and young women in our ward had an auction for a fund raiser and we bid on and won a fly fishing trip for four ,which included the fly's, poles, lessons, guided hike and food. We went to Eagle Meadows at an elevation of 6800 ft. Brian and Shirley Mollard were the experts. Here are Ally and Ashley setting up camp.

Jared just finished his lesson on how to cast and is awaiting the hike of 1.5 miles through the beautiful forest and granite rock mountains to the streams.(It was a hard hike, We had to stop a few times)
Ashley just finished catching a fish and is catching a rest at this time. If you know anything about fly fishing you need to separate on the stream or creek and you fish upstram so I wasn't close to get a picture of the trout. They were small because of the drought the water level was low.

We were camped at a horse camp where several people had trailers and brought horses for a beautiful ride through the mountains. Ally wanted to pet the horse in the camp ground next to us so Jared and Ally went to see Stormy.. On the hike Ally kept ahead of all of us and she would wonder off the path to do some rock climbing. It was so beautiful up in the mountains and great weather...75 degrees.
We all had a great time and want to go up to the mountains again. We enjoyed spending time together the most.

A GREAT 4th of JULY!!!

We were able to have 4 of our 5 children and their families come and spend a week with us and all the festivities for the fourth of July. We are greatful to live in this free land of many opportunities and beautiful country. We are blessed to live in a free nation. Most of all we are grateful to have freedoms that allow us to worship and live the gospel. We love all of our family and to those of you who could not be here we missed you and want you to know you were there in spirit.... so enjoy the photos.

Jared is doing remakably well after triple by-pass. For his birthday today he wanted to spend the day with grandchildren... and we did. It was a great day. He turned 54 today. I wanted to send a few pictures so that those of you that are far away and unable to see us in person would have proof of how good he looks. It has been 5 weeks since the surgery and that in itself is amazing. Time seems to fly the older we get. Thank you all for your prayers in our behalf. We appreciate it and love you all.

Ashley and the Dixie team came to California and played CSU Monterrey. Jared , Ally and I and Taylor Ann and Mckay went to the bay area for the weekend and we were able to see Ashley. We had a great time. Sarah and Spencer and Maren went up Thursday night because they were moving into their home on the weekend. It was so fun to see her.

We made it to Dixie! Ashley and her friends loaded the car. Ally and Ashley followed me in Ashley's car and I drove the van. All went well. It was a fast, long trip but we made it. I always love the Utah mountains. Dixie is surounded with mountains. The grand canyon is only 2 hours away, also Lake Powell is a few hours away. Hopefully, she will have opportunities to see the sights in her spare time(HA!) Upon arriving and meeting with the counselor she found out she has to take 15.5 units and devote about 25-30 hours a week to volleyball( that includes travel time) Anyway... she has a tight schedule... Next semester should allow sight seeing.

I had a great time having family dinner here and catching up with everyone. Thanks to my children for calling me. I love to talk to you. Interesting story... At church they always give out something to all women 18 and older. So when they announced for all women 18 and older to stand and receive a bouquet of See' suckers,Ashley was all smiles and jumped for the occasion. WOW! there are a few fun benefits of being 18. She turned 18 on May 11. It was so cute!!! Love to all! MOM

She has to be there June 5th to register and orientation, will go to volleyball camp July 9th - 13th (at Dixie) and reports August 1st for pre-season practice. School starts Aug 21st. Fun! Fun! Fun!
